William Talbot “Bill” Eubank III

William Talbot “Bill” Eubank III passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Born October 28, 1943, in Newport News, VA, Bill was known for his friendly, curious, and outgoing spirit. He was a 1961 graduate of Warwick High School, where he played baseball, was a graduate of Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company Apprentice School, and served in the U.S. Naval Air Intelligence Reserves.

He met his wife of 57 years, Allyson Granger Eubank, over a shared love of tennis. Always adventurous, Bill and Allyson enjoyed boating, cross-country skiing, biking, and kayaking. In the 1980s, he achieved a lifelong dream of earning a pilot’s license, which led to many blissful days spent soaring over the region he loved so well.

Bill is survived by his wife, daughter Allyson Kinnard and her husband Michael, grandchildren Madeline and Tyler, brother-in-law and sister-in-law George “Winn” and Henrietta Granger, and nephew George Winn “Tray” Granger and his wife Heather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Woodfin Eubank and William Talbot Eubank Jr.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 19, 2025, followed by a service at 12:00 PM at Peninsula Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverside Hospice or The Lighthouse Church, 604 Hilton Blvd, Newport News, VA 23605.

Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.

    Dear Allyson and family,

John and I offer our deepest condolences in the loss of your husband and our dear friend. We have so many fond memories of both of you on the tennis courts, dinners after tennis, dinner parties and the blessing of having you and Bill at our wedding in December of 2011. We will miss all the great stories Bill shared with us about his adventures and love of: sports, flying, dogs, Newport News, and of his beautiful wife. Please know we are here when you need us even for a mini get away to stay with us. We love you and we are so deeply sorry for your loss. God bless and keep Bill until we all meet again.
