Shirley Farmer Irvin White, born in Appomattox, Virginia, on September 20, 1926, and a member of Orcutt Baptist Church, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James White Jr., her son, James Wayne White, her daughter, Shirley Sheree “Susie” White Luntsford, her siblings, and her parents, William Henry Irvin and Ethel Lacy Farmer Irvin Hutchens. She is survived by her daughter, Ethel Diane White Jackson (Walter C. Jackson), and son, Johnnie Ray White (Twyla Kay Camden White); 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley loved working and drinking her morning coffee. She enjoyed the daily family phone calls, anything sweet, the mountains and camping, her flowers, and watching the birds and squirrels. Thanksgiving and Christmas family gatherings were among her favorite seasons.
She retired as Director, Consolidated Supply, Ft. Eustis, Virginia, after 32 years and then worked 20 years for Jackson & Associates Realtors/Appraisal Services.
A graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Matt Ferguson.
Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home.

am so sorry to hearabout MRS. WHITES PASSING! I am sure she will be missed by everyone that knew her! WHEN I use to clean her windows I always took HER Some BROWNIES! SHE always said they were so good! ALWAYS nice to talk to! MY thoughts and PRAYERS are with you and your FAMILY!
