Robert “Bobby” Franklin Hall

Robert “Bobby” Franklin Hall, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A man of quiet strength, boundless generosity, and a heart full of gold. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and service that touched everyone who knew him.

Known for his sharp wit and perfectly timed comebacks, Bobby had a sense of humor that lit up everyone’s room. He loved to pick on those he cared about, delivering his playful jabs with a satisfied grin. Behind the jokes was a man who would drop everything to help a neighbor, friend, or stranger in need. His loyalty to his family was unwavering, and his love ran deep. Bobby was a rock for those around him – a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend.

He also had a passion for cowboy shooting—a true cowboy and “Kidd at heart,” always ready with a steady aim and a good story. His passion for cowboy shooting brought him joy and camaraderie. Whether competing in events or simply spending time with fellow enthusiasts, he embodied the spirit of the Old West. Whether out on the range or surrounded by loved ones, he lived life with grit, laughter, and kindness.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Hall, and his daughter Jessica. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Hall; his grandchildren, Robby, Heather, Brendan, Alyssa, Jaylen, Brayden, and Victoria; and his great-grandchildren, Carson, Katie Grace, Brinleigh, and Jessica, who will carry his spirit forward with every laugh, every story, and every act of generosity.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601.

All of my cousins are my favorites but Bobby was super special in so many ways. This is a beautiful tribute and so true. We had great fun growing up. One of my best memories with him was when he took me to Lafayette Gun Club years ago to the shooting range. He definitely knew his “stuff” about guns and the safety as such. “Sheriff Bob Hall” is now in the peace and love of Heaven. 💙🙏🏼

I went to high school with Bob, such a kind gentle person he was through the five years at school. We were in the same graduating class of 68’. May he rest in peace 🙏. Praying to his family!

Such a sad week. KID AT Heart passed, the another of our Cowboy family. Camped on the range with Kid on a few occasions. He would definitely break out the humorous jabs around the camp. DAKOTA Rambler and he had a great sparing chemistry, when it came to the wise cracks. His company around the fire in the evening will be missed by his Cowboy camping family. Great camping companions are hard to come by. Definitely a void will be felt next time our group gets together.

I knew Bobby from when I was in the fire department before retiring back in 2015. He was always a kind, pleasant man to know and deal with on a day to day basis. It saddens me to hear of his passing. His biography of life is just as you wrote it. Kind, Loving man full of life as it should be. He’ll truly be missed by many, but know that he’s resting peacefully in the lords kingdom.
