Raymond Arthur Montgomery, Sr., 90, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at his home in The Huntington Assisted Living. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, he had been a resident of Hampton, VA, for the past 30 years. He graduated from John Carroll University in Ohio with a BS in Chemistry. After 28 years of service, he retired from Bayer as a Manager. He was a Christian by faith, loved St. Paul, and shared his teachings with everyone he met.
Raymond enjoyed building and renovating houses and working on projects of all kinds. He also enjoyed camping and RVing with his companion, Pat, for many years before her death. He liked sitting by the campfire and enjoying “2 fingers of whiskey.” Raymond loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and was very proud of them.
Raymond was preceded in death by his companion, Patricia F. Lee. He is survived by his son, Raymond A. Montgomery Jr. (Rebecca) of Hampton, and two grandchildren, Caroline Montgomery (John Gamble) of Sandston, VA, and Daniel Montgomery (Maggie Wall) of Hampton.
The family will hold a small, private Celebration of Raymond’s Life at a later date.
