Nam Do Lim, 92, was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, strength, humor, and gracious spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born in Korea on March 18, 1934, Nam Do married the love of her life, Jae Kyung Lim, in 1951. Together, they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage, building a beautiful life centered around love, family, and devotion to one another. They shared many happy memories, especially enjoying golfing and karaoke together.
On March 24, 1970, Nam Do and Jae Kyung came to America, beginning a new chapter in their lives. With courage, determination, and a strong commitment to family, they built a life and a lasting legacy for the generations that followed.
Nam Do proudly stood beside her husband as he served as the 8th President of the Korean Association and as a former President of the Korean Senior Citizens Group.
A talented floral designer, Nam Do spent many years creating beautiful floral arrangements before retiring. In her later years, she enjoyed attending a senior day program, where she spent time with friends, socializing, playing bingo, and sharing laughter.
Nam Do was a kind, honest, gracious, funny, and incredibly strong woman. Her warmth, resilience, and wonderful sense of humor made her someone truly special. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love that will continue through the generations of her family.
She is survived by her six children: two sons, Yong Soo Lim and Yong Ho Lim; four daughters, Yong Ja Yoo, Judy Mickin, Lisa Joo, and Anna Smith; and her two brothers, Daesong Chong and Daeik Chong. She also leaves behind 9 beloved grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, who will carry her love and legacy forward for generations to come.
Although her passing is a heartbreaking and tragic loss, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Jae Kyung. After years apart, they are together once again, perhaps enjoying another round of golf or singing their favorite songs.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
A graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park on Monday, November 2, at 3:00 p.m.
