Morris Clay Kincaid

Morris Clay Kincaid of Newport News passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. A native of Alderson, West Virginia, he had been a resident of Newport News for over 60 years. Morris worked in manufacturing and retired from Teledyne. He and his wife attended Denbigh Presbyterian Church. Additionally, Morris served in the U.S. Army.

Morris grew up on a farm in West Virginia and graduated from Alderson High School in 1960. He married his wife, Joyce, whom he affectionately thought of as his angel, in November 1961. Shortly afterward, Morris was stationed at Fort Eustis during his military service and settled in Newport News. Morris enjoyed exploring his Scottish heritage, taking road trips with his wife, woodworking, and tinkering around the house. He loved caring for their cats and enjoyed feeding and watching birds and deer.

Morris was preceded in death by his wife of over 58 years, Joyce Martin Kincaid, as well as his parents, Don and Hazel Kincaid, and, most recently, his cat, Thistle. He is survived by his sisters, Sue Moore (Marv) of Daleville, Virginia, and Vickie Fleshman (John) of Alderson, West Virginia; three nieces; other family members; and caregivers Diane, Breana, Laurie, and Lydia, along with his cat, Callie.

While his journey on earth may have come to an end, Morris’s legacy continues through the strength he demonstrated, the lives he touched, and the cherished memories held by those who knew him. Family and friends will greatly miss him.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 27, at 3:00 p.m. in Peninsula Memorial Park.
