Mike was a great public servant and a great friend.
I feel honored to have known and worked with him.
We all could take a lesson on how he lived his life and gave back.

We are thinking of Paula, Grey, Nick, and the entire Davenport family at this time. We loved Mike so much. Words cannot adequately express how much Mike meant to us. He has been a dear friend for over forty years. We will treasure the years spent working together at Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, spending time together in the mountains, and countless fun-filled experiences. Mike was a true friend in every sense of the word. He was there when you needed help with anything, always willing to lend a hand. He was there when you just needed to talk. He was probably the most quick-witted friend we’ve ever known, always there with a joke or adding a punch line to every situation. We will miss him so much. We send our love to his family and other dear friends at this time. His was truly a life well-lived.
    Love, David and Beth Moore
