It is with heavy hearts that Matthew Thomas Grepiotis at the age of 39, son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Libby) Grepiotis went to rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He faced extraordinary challenges with a strength and resilience that inspired those around him. Matthew battled brain cancer with courage, undergoing surgery and treatments. Despite the hardships he endured, he remained a unique and spirited soul.
Matthew had big dreams, he had a passion for acting and pursued it in Virginia, always hoping to make his mark on the stage or screen. He also had a deep love for martial arts and though his illness made it difficult he never stopped trying. He had a spirited personality but also a kind and gentle side. His resilience and unwavering spirit were an inspiration to those who knew him.He had his own way of seeing the world and that made him special. Through the love and care of his family, especially his parents, he was given the best life possible despite the obstacles he faced.
Matthew is survived by his devoted parents Thomas Arthur Grepiotis, Elizabeth (Libby) Grepiotis and his loving brother Arthur Thomas Grepiotis. Many Dear Uncles, Aunts and Cousins. He is now at peace, reunited with his beloved paternal and maternal grandparents, along with other cherished family members who passed before him.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 6:30pm to 7:30 pm at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. 60 Traverse Road, Newport News, with the Trisagion taking place at 7:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at church on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:30 am. Following the funeral, Matthew’s burial will take place at Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery. 12750 Warwick Blvd., Newport News.

Though his time here was challenging and short, Matthew’s life is one of resilience, passion and the power of never giving up upon one’s dreams. He will be remembered, missed and loved forever.
