Jeffrey Andrew Spigel, 71, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 7:15 AM, leaving behind a legacy of love and service to his family and community.
A devoted husband to Bonnie Spigel and proud father to daughter Jennifer Spigel, Jeffrey was also a beloved grandfather to his grandson, David Spigel. His life was marked by dedication to his loved ones and a deep passion for baseball, where he excelled as a left-handed pitcher in the Tidewater area, playing through high school, college, and summer leagues, and forming lifelong friendships.
A lifelong member of the Jewish community, Jeffrey was actively involved in Rodef Shalom Temple and the United Synagogue Youth (USY), always seeking to help others. In his professional life, Jeffrey enjoyed a successful career in life insurance, rising to Vice President at Carpenter Brothers Insurance, and winning numerous accolades for his work.
Jeffrey’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering support of others will be remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Bonnie and grandson David, his brother Barry Spigel (Mindy Spigel), and many dear friends and family.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the Jewish Cemetery for the Virginia Peninsula. Donations may be made to Rodef Sholom Temple or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA.

Jeff was a wonderful neighbor and friend, always ready with a quick quip and smile. I will miss that smile and offer my sincerest condolences to Bonnie and David.
Jeff was the first person I met when my family moved to Bethel Park.
He was a friend of my older brother Steve,
I used to hang around with Barry who was closer to my age.
