Janet M. “Diddee” Crump, age 73, passed away peacefully in Hampton, Virginia, on April 9, 2025. Born on November 14, 1951, in Perry, Kentucky, she was a long-time resident of Newport News, Virginia. She was an avid reader who enjoyed historical fiction, true crime, and political news. As a lover of history, her favorite pastimes included trips to museums, the Yorktown battlefields, and Colonial Williamsburg. Janet was also a devoted caregiver to her many beloved fur babies that she had throughout her life. She will be forever remembered for her quiet nature, thoughtfulness, and her kindness.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn A. Crump, Jr., father Vernon P. Moore, mother Molly “Monnie” R. Moore, and aunt Joyce Ann Luttrell.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, son Patrick S. Housden, daughter Emily F. Collina; son-in-law, Nick Collina; brother, Chris E. Moore; grandchildren, Brittany Heath and Devon Housden; nieces, Rachel Moore and Chrystal Jones; cousin, Kim Luttrell; and her many family members in Kentucky and California.
A private burial and celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date.
