Eung Yol Yoo was born on February 25, 1932, and was a native of Korea. In 1978, he became a resident of Newport News, where he first worked as a warehouseman for Pepsi-Cola before becoming a shoe repairman, from which he retired with over 30 years of service. In 1978, he joined the Peninsula Korean Baptist Church and became a member of the Peninsula Korean Seniors Association.
He is survived by his children, Jae C. Yoo (Eun Mi Yoo), Jae H. Yoo, Young Chae Okamoto (Kent), and Jinson Kaplan (Nick), as well as eight grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, at 11:30 a.m. at the Peninsula Korean Baptist Church, (972 Harpersville Rd Newport News, Va 23601) followed by interment at Peninsula Memorial Park. Flowers may be sent to Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, Virginia 23601.
