Elaine “Nannie” Caton

Elaine “Nannie” Caton, 81, lifelong Peninsula resident, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Nannie loved to shop and spend time in her kitchen. She shared her love of cooking with her family and always had a cake on the counter. She was always dressed to the nines and received compliments on her fabulous shoes, but when she got home her comfort was her moo moos. Besides her family, her great loves were Mic Ultra, Lays Potato Chips, and a good crab pickin’. She never met a stranger and will be missed immensely.

Elaine was preceded in death by her brother, Calvin Dellinger and her beloved dog, Tyson. She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Talmadge Caton; two daughters, Gail Evans and husband, Ray, and Belinda Bordeaux and husband, Eddie; four grandchildren, Jordan, Josh and wife, Amy, Nick and wife, Courtney, Jenna, and husband, Sean; six great-grandchildren, Archer, Elliot, Lane, Lowen, Aiden and Madi; and her nephew, Shaun Dellinger and wife, Renee and their family, Rachel, Elizabeth, and Jack.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank their caregiver, Teresa Davis.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the family home. A graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.

Memories of Friday nights at the Community Center, Red’s Pier, skating rink sock hops, pajama parties…and never forget Bills Bar-B-Q…fond memories, good memories. My sincere condolences to Talmadge, Gail and Belinda, and family.

Joe and I are so saddened to hear of Elaine’s passing. Elaine cared for our two sons Jeremey and Joseph when we were young parents. We always felt safe leaving them with her. She loved all the little ones she cared for. Elaine and Talmadge welcomed us into their world of camping at Newpoint, something we continued for many years eventually bringing our own grandchildren to enjoy and make memories. Our love goes out to Talmadge, Gail, and Belinda and all the family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
