Eileen D. Wallace, 80, went to meet our Lord on October 18, 2026. She retired from Newport News Shipyard with 45 years of service. Prior to that, she was a dispatcher for the Newport News Police Department.
Eileen was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She had a passion for bargain shopping and loved bringing “care packages” to all. With her generous spirit, she would help anyone in need.
She was a passionate sports fan and enjoyed all types of sports. Her two favorites were Pittsburgh Steelers football and NASCAR racing. Eileen followed Bill Elliott for years and, upon his retirement, followed his son, Chase Elliott.
Eileen will be missed deeply by her wide circle of friends and family.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. Committal will take place at Peninsula Memorial Park.

Eileen was a wonderful friend who I met
through my neighbors. After talking and family time we figured we had played against each other in Old Timers softball. Oh what memories we shared and made new ones.
She was a very lovely lady who will be missed. 🩷 Pat
