It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved brother, Donald Clifford Thomas, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. He was born in Germany to William H. Thomas and Marianna Schiffer Thomas. Growing up in a military family, he experienced many travels but eventually settled in Hampton, Virginia.
Donald began working in construction during his early teenage years and honed his skills to become a master in the field throughout his life.
He had so much more life ahead of him – so many sunrises to wake up to, countless memories to create, and an abundance of love to receive. It breaks our hearts that he didn’t have the time to experience all of that. He turned strangers into friends and friends into family, and we loved him for it.
Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Marianna Schiffer Rodriguez; his stepfather, Joe Rodriguez; and his nephew, Daniel Morin.
He is survived by his loving family, which includes his siblings: Steven Thomas (brother) and his wife, Amanda; Linda Thomas Morin (sister); Karen Farmer (sister) and her husband Mike; Kimberly Rodriguez (sister); Kristina Cifers (sister); and Lisa Dunn (sister) and her husband John. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews: Steven, Mike, Caitlin, Samantha, Sally, Sarah, Noah, Corinne, Isabella, and Kai.
Rest easy, sweet brother. Your gentle soul has found a home. Your journey may have ended, but we will remember and treasure every single moment with you and hold you in our hearts every day.
