It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Daryl Moody, who left this world on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, after suffering a major heart attack. Daryl was born on December 7, 1967, in Newport News, Virginia.
Daryl is survived by his loving daughter Kendyl Moody, who was the light of his life and his little girl forever. He also leaves behind one cherished grandcat, Lucifer, his caring parents, Carolyn and Richard Motley, his loving brother Mark (wife Karla), stepbrother Ricky, stepsister Patty, and three nephews, Karson, Konner, and Colton (Karyn), who loved him tremendously, and lifelong friends Rodger Hogge, Billy
Quantz and Will White, along with an abundance of family and amazing friends who will miss his infectious smile, contagious laugh and huge heart.
Daryl was a proud graduate of Menchville High School, where he excelled in social activities and was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. After school, he pursued a career as a Contractor, where he built beautiful, custom homes and left a lasting impact on the community.
When he wasn’t hard at work, Daryl could be found indulging in his favorite hobbies of fishing, hunting, and designing original pieces for every home he built. His attention to detail and creative eye were unmatched, and his craftsmanship was admired by all who knew him.
Although Daryl may no longer be with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Daryl, and may your humor and creativity continue to inspire us all.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 15, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home.

My thoughts & condolences to all the family. Daryl was a stand up guy & I know his last day on earth was enjoyed as he was very excited & enthusiastic about the job he was working with me on out in Buckroe. God bless to all !!
