Carl “Bud” Yaddow

Carl “Bud” Yaddow passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Riverside Hospital. He was a native of Syracuse, NY, and a resident of Newport News for over 40 years. Bud was a world-class machinist, and his career included 28 years with Triumph Aerospace Systems. He finished his career at Calspan Aerospace, here in Newport News. In his early career, he worked at Boeing Commercial Aircraft and Rockwell International.

Carl loved anything to do with aircraft (he often said working in Aerospace was like being in Santa’s workshop), was a lifelong motorcyclist, enjoyed working on cars, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed his time being a member of the Moose Riders.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Carl W. Yaddow, Sr., and Patricia Duby Yaddow, and his sister, Kathleen Canarecci. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Rose-Marie Yaddow; his sons, Marshall Yaddow of Richmond VA and step-son, Roy (Angelica) Varney II of Hampton, VA; daughters, Patricia (Lee) Ferguson of Middlesex, NC, Nichole (Richard) Presnell of Mathews, VA, Krystal Yaddow of Gloucester, VA, and step-daughter, Amanda Varney of Newport News; his grandchildren, James Fergurson, Middlesex, NC, Corey Ferguson, Middlesex, NC, Daniel Ferguson, Middlesex, NC, Nicholas Martinez, Gloucester, VA, Ayla Martinez, Mathews, VA, Henry Presnell, Mathews, VA, Lili Presnell, Mathews, VA, Brendon Cherry, Newport News, VA, Amara Varney, Greensboro, NC, Annalysia Varney, Goldsboro, NC, Aubrey Varney, Goldsboro, NC, Roy Varney III, Newport News, VA, Harlow Varney, Newport News, VA, Brayden Harris, Newport News, VA, and TJ Harris, Newport News, VA; great-grandchild, Piper Ferguson; sisters, Patsy (Gary) Newman, Goshen, IN, Edie (Dave) Thompson, Johns Island, SC; and brothers, Eric (Karen) Yaddow, Camden, NY, Jeff (Angela) Yaddow, Elkhart, IN; and brother-in-law, Tom Canarecci, Elkhart, IN.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
