Obituaries

Brandon Wade Carmean, age 38, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026. He was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia. Brandon will be remembered for his big heart, his love for his family and friends, and his natural athleticism. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.

Brandon was preceded in death by parents, Pam and Mike Carmean. He is survived by his aunt Deborah R. Hogge and husband Gene; loving cousins Shella B. Cherry and husband Dwayne; Zachary Hogge; Ryan Hogge and wife Gracie; Dawn McCarty and husband Jason; and second cousins Maddox and Mila Cherry, Eleanor and Quinn Hogge; and extended family. He also leaves behind longtime friends who were a second family, Chris, Becky, Kyle, Matthew, Paige, Daniel, and Catrina Waltz.

Brandon is a graduate from Menchville High School (2005) and Old Dominion University (2012). He was a long time employee of Waltz Engineered Sales, Inc. and last worked as a Sales Coordinator. He was an active member of the Chesapeake Hunt Club, Inc. and a member of the Waltz Racing Team. He was an avid hunter and golfer.

The family will host a visitation on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church (Newport News, Va) and a church service at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Mark White officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park with a lunch reception following at First Baptist Church.
