Bobbie Alice Miller

Bobbie Alice Miller, 79, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, just two days after celebrating her birthday.

Born on July 5, 1947, in California, Bobbie was raised in Florida, where she met the love of her life, Harry Miller Sr. The two were married in August 1964 when Bobbie was just 17 years old, beginning a loving partnership that would last for many years. In 1965, they moved to Newport News, Virginia, after Harry completed his military service, where they built their home and raised their family.

Bobbie devoted most of her life to being a stay-at-home mother, a role she embraced with love, patience, and unwavering dedication. Her family was the center of her world. She found great joy in spending time at the beach, camping with her loved ones, and making treasured trips back to Florida to visit family. The memories created during those vacations and family gatherings will be cherished for generations.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Miller Sr.; her parents, Edmund and Iris Fischer; one brother; and four sisters.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her children: Terry Browning and her husband, William; Harry Miller Jr.; and Donna Gurkins and her husband, Scott. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Fischer; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom brought great joy to her life.

Bobbie will be remembered for her quiet strength, her devotion to her family, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and the countless memories they will carry in their hearts.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News, Virginia.

Flowers may be sent to Peninsula Funeral Home.

Though she is no longer with us, Bobbie’s love, kindness, and the memories she created with those she loved will remain a lasting source of comfort to all who knew her.

A beautiful tribute to my Aunt Bobbie.
Aunt Bobbie always greeted me with a warm smile whenever I came to visit. She was an anchor, not only to her own family, but her extended family as well. Aunt Bobbie found an immense joy in the little things and a Heart of Gold! I will always cherish my memories of her. My heart and prayers go out to Terry, Harry, Donna, Grandchildren & Extended Family and friends.
