Ann M. Nicholls, 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of Hampton, Virginia. Ann worked as a seamstress for more than 20 years at Elegant. She was a member of the Methodist church and cherished spending time with her family, especially when cooking Italian dishes – a passion she enjoyed even though she often joked she didn’t have an Italian bone in her body.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert Nicholls; daughters, Conni Kost and Jo Leonard; son-in-law, Mike Kost; and her parents, Paul McGalliard and Eloise Jarvis. She is survived by her daughter, Maria Thomas (Bobby); grandchildren, Casey Kost and Joshua Thomas; brothers, Bill McGalliard and John Jarvis (Connie); and a host of friends.
Ann’s legacy of hard work, love, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
