Richard Charles Norad

Richard Charles Norad, a kind and humble individual, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023. Born on August 27, 1952, in Newport News, Virginia, Richard was the cherished son of Rose and David Norad, a loyal brother and a steadfast friend.
 
Richard’s childhood, shared with his surviving sister Brenda, was full of the joys and challenges typical of sibling life, fostering a strong and enduring bond. A resilient and tenacious spirit, Richard shone as a wrestler at Hampton High School, later channeling this discipline into bodybuilding and his love for motorcycle riding.
 
After graduating from Hampton High School in 1971, Richard advanced his studies at Danville Community College, paving the way for a career aligned with his passions. He enjoyed recreational shooting and was recognized for his expertise in defensive firearms.
 
Known for his strength, kindness, and willingness to help others, Richard delighted in life’s simple pleasures and maintained a respectful demeanor to everyone, regardless of differing views. His hobbies, including bodybuilding and motorcycle riding, reflected his zest for life.
 
Richard was a fervent advocate for the Bill of Rights and American democracy, and he passionately upheld the principles of fairness, freedom, and justice. His support for causes like the SPCA reflected his compassionate nature.
