Sue Robinson Harrison, 87, of The Chesapeake Retirement Community in Newport News died June 15, 2023. Sue was born in Roseboro, NC on May 28, 1936, to the late Judge Edward Croswell and Lolita Underwood Robinson.

Sue is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edwin Francis Harrison; her son, Douglas Edwin Harrison of Baltimore, MD; and her grandson, Henry Croswell Harrison of Orlando, FL. Sue is also survived by four nephews, Dr. Edward Norwood Robinson of Greensboro, NC, James Gray Robinson of Fernandina Beach, FL, Michael Lindsay Robinson of Winston-Salem, NC, and Mark Alvin Robinson of Louisville, KY.

After earning a degree in mathematics from Wake Forest College, Sue began her career in computer programming at the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), now known as NASA. This work launched a lifelong love of computers and technology. Sue later worked as a computer systems manager at Tidewater Community College and as a talented tax preparer for many years. Sue applied her talents to support local organizations and causes including the First United Methodist Church in Hilton, Orcutt Baptist Church in Newport News, and Boy Scout Troop #13 in Hampton. She was always willing to lead a committee, organize an event, or prepare a meal.

Sue will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother as well as an avid reader, puzzle solver, and Emerald Isle beach lover.

A memorial service followed by a reception will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at The Chesapeake Retirement Community, 955 Harpersville Road, Newport News. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
