Shirley Mae Dunn

Shirley Mae Dunn, a loving mother, devoted wife, and cherished friend, passed away on December 31, 2023, in Newport News at the age of 91. She was born on September 1, 1932, in Universal, Pennsylvania, to Michael and Janet (Clark) Luketich. Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William E. Dunn, her parents, Michael and Janet Luketich, and her brother, Lawrence Luketich.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Lentz, and husband Ronnie; sons William M. Dunn and wife Risa, Lawrence E. Dunn and wife Debbie, John H. Dunn and wife Kimberly; grandchildren Julia Lentz, Rebecca Lentz, Daniel Lentz, Tamara Bogy, William Dunn, Shannon Meddleton, Dunn Morgan Mayes and great-granddaughter Chaelyn Jones. Shirley also leaves behind her sister, Mary Jane Clark, her niece, Kim Heid, and her longtime friend, Mary McLaughlin.

Shirley will be fondly remembered for her kindness and generosity towards others, her unwavering love and dedication to her family, her passion for gardening, and her keen sense of humor.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate and dedicated staff of Warwick Forest for their exceptional care and support over the past three years.

Shirley Mae Dunn’s presence will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

A funeral service will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home, January 10th, 2024, 2:00 p,m. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park

    We are very sorry to hear of the passing of such a beautiful lady. Last time we saw her was in Pittsburgh. She was there with Bill. One of my dads all time favorites. It was easy to see why.
