Shirley Jenkins Jurgensen
Shirley Jenkins Jurgensen, a loving mother and devoted wife, passed away at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia, on January 9, 2024, at age 89.
She was born August 21, 1934, and resided in Yorktown, Virginia.
In addition to her parents and siblings, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard E. Jurgensen. The couple had spent over 60 years together, raising their son Donald E. Jurgensen Sr.
She is survived by her son, Donald E. Jurgensen Sr., and his wife, Rosi, as well as two grandchildren, Donald Jurgensen Jr. (Clarrisa) and Christina Withers (Christopher), and one Great-Grandchild, Holli.
Shirley was a very loving and caring person who touched the hearts of many people. She will sadly be missed and remembered as a genuinely great Mom, Grandmother, and Great person who was always there for everyone. We love you forever.
A Graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park on January 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.

We are so very sorry for the loss of your mom. She certainly was a great mom, and has left her legacy with your family. Donnie, we think the world of you, and Rosi. You obviously share your mom’s great attributes of always taking care of others with our mom, and Chuck. We wish we had known your mom, as she was as wonderful as you.
