Richard Weston Clinkinbeard, 78, of Newport News, Virginia, went to his Heavenly home on January 22, 2024.  He was the son of the late William and Nancy Clinkinbeard.

He was also predeceased by his brother, Robert Eyrich.

Clink, as he was affectionately known, served in the United Air Force for 22 years, followed by a career as an electrician at Newport News Shipbuilding.  He loved his retirement job as a photographer at Busch Gardens.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Mary; his children Nancy, David, and Janet; and his seven grandsons.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 902 Denbigh Blvd, Newport News, VA, 23602.  The family will receive visitors at the church starting at noon on the day of the service.  A private burial for invited guests will be held at Albert G. Horton Veteran Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy in the form of contributions to the Humanitarian Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or Habitat for Humanity.

Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home.
