Priscilla “Pinky” Dennis

Priscilla “Pinky” Dennis, 71, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, October 26, 2023, in Newport News, VA, where she was a lifelong resident.  She worked as an administrative assistant at the Newport News Shipyard, the Newport News Police Department, and the Newport News Fire Department, where she retired after many years of service.  She was a 17-year Breast Cancer survivor and active with Relay for Life.

She LOVED her time in the fire department as it made her feel close to her father.  Pinky looked to the firefighters as a second family.  She loved collecting anything having to do with the fire department and Dalmatians.

She was an avid crafter and ALWAYS had a project with her.

Pinky also cherished her family, retiring to spend more time with her grandchildren and traveling with her husband.

Pinky was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Jane Weatherford, and her first husband, Charlie Brisson.  She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Scott; daughter, Becky (Jim); two grandchildren, Kimberleigh and Vicki; brother, Jamie (Ann) of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life (donate.cancer.org) or the Susan G. Komen For the Cure (https://www.komen.org/), and always support your local fire department.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8 at Peninsula Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.
