Nicholas Lewis Caffacus

Nicholas Lewis Caffacus, 58, passed away on October 7, 2023, in Newport News, Virginia. Nick was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on March 12, 1965, to Robert and Barbara Caffacus. He graduated from Warwick High School and spent most of his life playing music, selling pianos and keyboards, and later started a multimedia website company. Nick played with many local bands in the area, including The Rhondels, Slapwater, LP and Company, The Boxtops, and many others. His greatest joy, though, was himself as a one-person band. He was “Nick at Nite,” entertaining many locals around Newport News, Williamsburg, and Richmond.

Nick is survived by his two children, Hannah and Nicholas, from Richmond; their mother, Karen Phelps; his parents, Bob and Barbara Caffacus; sister, Christy Kuhnle; brother-in-law, Scott Kuhnle; niece, Mia Kuhnle; and brother, Bobby Caffacus.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Hilton Baptist Church in Newport News at 11:00 a.m. There will be food and fellowship afterward with the family.

Dear Barbara and Bob, So very sorry to read about Nick. I was so glad to “meet” him on Facebook and obtain one of his albums which he signed. He was so talented and I know you both were so proud of him. May he rest in peace with Our Lord. Diane
