Lewis “Tom” Dunaway, 80, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 20, 2023.  He was a native of Newport News and was employed by Lockheed Martin as an Analyst for over 18 years.  Tom served in the U.S. Navy and held the rank of C.P.O. and retired after 20 years of service.

Tom was a Mason, liked computers and computer gaming, and loved reading, camping, and music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anne and Lewis Dunaway, Sr.  He is survived by his wife and best friend of 56 years, Gertrude Dunaway; daughter, Lisa Kathleen Dunaway; son, Lewis Dunaway III, and wife, Kathy; six grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, Alex, Josh, Lucas, and Philip; and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, at 1:00 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park.
