John  Robert “Bobby” Woerner, born May 30, 1926, passed away on December 7, 2023 at the age of 97.  Bobby retired from Davis Boat Works, Inc. and Horne Brothers, Inc.  He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on board the LST 512 and USS Sirona (a/k/a 43).

Bobby had a long and satisfying life, enjoying traveling with his wife, Betty, and playing golf with friends and family.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his loving wife Betty, daughter Brenda Lee, granddaughter Kimberly Beatty, son-in-law Gilbert Demby, and his sister Thelma

Hall.  He is survived by his daughters Pamela Beatty and husband James, and Susan Demby; granddaughters Heather Lowe and husband Jerry, Jamie Gray and husband Collin; great-grandsons Wesley Gray, Dakota Lowe, and Hunter Lowe; great-granddaughters Kimberly Gray and Cora Gray; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 18, at 1:00 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park.
