James “Jimmy” A. Pearce

James “Jimmy” A. Pearce, 54, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023. He was a native of Newport News and a graduate of Warwick High School.

Jimmy was self-employed and worked in the Automotive industry as a mechanic (The Go-to guy) for family and friends. As a young boy, he loved “all things fast,” from go-karts to racecars. He filled his passion through racing at Langley Speedway for many years with family by his side. Such an exciting time for everyone!

As a young man with a strong will and determination, he was the “wild child .”Later, that firm will and dedication led him to live a more meaningful and purposeful life. A life that made his family proud.

Jimmy was loved by many and never met a stranger. People were instantly drawn to him because of his kindness and willingness to help. That is how he would want to be remembered.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Pearce.

Jimmy is survived by his father, William C. Pearce, two sisters, Teresa Romesburg (Ron) and Jennifer Thomason (Brian), a host of nieces and nephews, and many well-loved friends.

As God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Rest easy, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.

Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home.
