Herbert “Herb” A. Toms, III

Herbert “Herb” A. Toms, III, a cherished soul known for his inventive spirit, hard work ethic, and compassionate heart, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the age of 60, in Weston, Florida.

He was born and raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, and he spent time in Marina del Rey, California, and Williamsburg, Virginia.

Herb was self-taught and had the drive to become a successful entrepreneur. He started his career working with a dear friend wholesaling computer parts and systems. Herb then successfully established a Health Care Business that thrives today. He built this company from the ground up and treated his employees as family. Herb was a great mentor, friend, and boss.

Herb was a wonderful brother to his sister, Laura. He protected her, taught her things, and always made sure she was okay since there were so many miles between each other. She will miss the daily talks and banter between each other.

Herb has dear friends that will miss his humor and his RED shoes that made him who he was. He never tried to be someone he wasn’t, and the red shoes proved his simplicity with life.

Herb was preceded in death by his father, Herbert A. Toms, Jr., and his mother, Caroline E. Toms, whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his sister, Laura Toms.

Visitation is by invitation only, and the burial is private.

Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home.
