Fredrick “Red” Gregory

Fredrick “Red” Gregory, 71, passed away on March 9, 2022.  He was born in Virginia and was a resident of Newport News.  He served in the U.S. Marines and later became a commercial painter.

Red was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Hart; sister, Mary Ann Graves; and brother, Reginald Easter.  He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gregory; daughters, Tara McLean, Fredrina Ridgell, and April Womack; sons, Grant Womack, Fredrick Womack, and Brandon Womack; step-sons, Derrick Barnes and James Barnes; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Easter; and four nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Peninsula Funeral Home.  Interment at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery will be at a later date.   

Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.
