Evelyn Marie Hempel
Evelyn Marie Hempel, 96, of Hampton, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and had been a resident of Hampton for over 60 years.
Evelyn was an Air Force wife completely devoted to her husband, Norman, of 73 years. She loved her family and was the matriarch for all family celebrations and special events. Evelyn leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Hempel, and her parents, Michael and Marie Beharka.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lynn Dalin and her husband, Dale Dalin; son, Kurt Allen Hempel and his wife, Sandi Hempel; three grandchildren, Casey Legg and her husband, Josh Legg, Matthew Hempel, and his fiancé, Gracie Gorman Love, and Hailey Hempel Hart, and her husband, David Hart, and her three great-grandchildren, Tolson Legg, Van Legg, and Banks Hempel.
A graveside service will occur on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Horton Wreath Society, P.O. Box 6246, Virginia Beach, Va. 23456-0246.

I have great childhood memories of Mrs Hemple and the whole family who lived only a couple houses away. She was a beautiful lady inside and out.
We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Hemple. She and her husband were both wonderful people and we surely miss them both. We wish to extend our deepest condolences to the entire family.
We are so very sorry to hear the news of Evelyn’s passing. Her and Norm were the kindness neighbor’s anyone could ask for. They both are missed!!!
We will miss her so much.
