Eugene Dale Clinton

Eugene Dale Clinton, 56, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, in his home. He was a native of Virginia and a resident of Newport News for 47 years. Eugene worked in construction for Longhill Excavating for 12 years. He loved to play rock and roll music and was an artist.

Eugene is preceded in death by his brother, Wilson; daughter, Kirstyn Clinton; father, Earl Clinton; and mom, Edna Mae Pugh.

He is survived by his companion, Lynne Sellers; stepdaughters, Traci Bernard, and Patricia Sellers; stepson, Bobby Joyner; Pops, John H. Pugh Jr.; grandchildren, Bobby Joyner Jr., Trevor Joyner, Kayla Joyner, Brooke Bernard, and Lexie Sellers; two great-grandchildren; aunts, Jayne Major (aka Momma 2), Lessie Conners, Lou Tilley, Pauline Alice Wilson, and Judy Kaye Ellison; uncles, Jerry Ray Tilley, and Robert Troy “Skip” Sampson and extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Menchville Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.

You were a good husband to my sister Lynne, a precious dad to my neices and nephew along with Papaw… to your grandkids!     Dale was the first one I met when I came from Florida and we shared a beautiful daughter together Kirsten Clinton now you can be with her once again and y’all can play music in heaven. I’ll miss you both terribly and I love you both until I see you rest in paradise.
