Ejnar married the love of his life, Sandra Babcock, on January 2, 1960, in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was a Naval aviator and had experience in Crusaders, T2As, and in F4 Phantoms. He served our country with courage and honor, being recognized for his service in Vietnam which added a Purple Heart to his medals. On his last deployment, aboard the USS aircraft carrier Enterprise, during the Vietnam Campaign, flying an F4 Phantom jet, Lieutenant Commander Ejnar S. Christensen, Jr was shot down over the Gulf of Tonkin 1/2 mile from shore. He was 10 seconds from being captured but was successfully recovered, much to the joy of his wife and children.

In private life, Ejnar sold commercial real estate and was a stockbroker, before deciding to seek more education. He received an MBA from International University, in San Diego, California then continued on to earn a degree in Computer Science from Coleman College, in San Diego, California. He then pursued a successful career as a computer software engineer and business consultant.

Mr. Christensen was an accomplished yachtsman; a love he inherited from his father. He made sure all four of his children were competent and comfortable sailing as well. Ejnar was happiest with Sandy by his side aboard his 47-foot yacht Natural High. They had many adventures together sailing the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, and the Caribbean.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Sandra, of 63 years, his children (and their spouses) Gregory P. Christensen (Lori Wolfrum Christensen), Stacy Christensen Kelly (Raymond P. Kelly, Jr), Jon W. Christensen (Hanna Jo Christensen), and Ejnar S. Christensen, III (Kristin Krock Christensen).
