Donna Marie Hudik, 88, of Newport News, Virginia passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, with her family by her side.

Donna was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1934. Married in 1957 to her loving husband, Leonard T. Hudik (Lenny), it was only four years until they moved to Newport News, Virginia to raise their family in 1961. She and her husband later retired to North Port, Florida where they enjoyed life for twenty-five years. In 2018, she moved back to Newport News to be back with her children.

Donna was born an artist and she worked for a potter for several years. This led her to follow a dream to open her pottery studio where she taught many classes. Those who know Donna know she had a passion for traveling and was able to go on many trips with her husband and many friends. A lover of the water, she was often found spending her many afternoons at the beach with a good book. She enjoyed card and dice games such as “Bridge” with friend groups, and “Greedy” with her family through later years.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Leonard Hudik. She is survived by her brother and wife Joseph (Joe) and Joan Ference, her youngest brother Richard (Dick) and his wife Bobbie Ference; her two children: Robin, and her husband Jim Higgins, and her son David Hudik; grandchildren, Jason Wiencek, Jimmy Higgins, Kari Walker, Joshua Higgins, and Taylor Tuel; plus seven great-grandchildren and her many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
