CMSgt Thomas Glavin

CMSgt Thomas Glavin, 80, of Newport News, Virginia, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024.  He was born February 28, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, completing two tours of duty in Vietnam and 25 years of service in total.  Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked as a contractor performing home improvements and repairs before retiring again in 2004.  

Tom had a talent for woodworking. He built furniture and other items that our family has used for decades. He was also an avid stamp collector and a longtime member of the Williamsburg Stamp Society.  

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Glavin and Rose Casey Glavin; and a brother, Frank Glavin. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dawn Pelletier Glavin; daughter Tracey Glavin King and son-in-law Mark King of Manassas, VA; grandson Evan King of Warrenton, VA; sister Margaret Glavin Roberts of Houston, TX; sister-in-law Kathleen Glavin of Philadelphia, PA; niece Rose Glavin McCusker Branca of Marlton, NJ; and nephews Timothy and Matthew Glavin of Philadelphia, PA.  

Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

    So sorry for your loss, Marge. I have lost my brother and my sister and I am the only one left. That’s life and just be glad you had him. Hope you are well. Take care of you.
