Cecil Eure Ward, born February 25, 1948, 76 years of age, of Yorktown, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease on Sunday, April 28th, 2024, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by family.  

Cecil is a native of Hobbsville, North Carolina, and was the late son of Annie Mary Eure and William Herman Ward. 

He was also predeceased by his sister, Rita Louise Ward.  

He graduated from Gates County High School, North Carolina, and then started at the apprentice school in Norfolk, Virginia.  He then started his own business, Ward Marine Enterprises Inc., with his wife Patricia in 1984 in Hampton, Virginia.  Everybody knew him as a very outgoing and personable man who loved telling jokes and history stories.  He did everything in the world for his five children.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 40 years, Patricia Marlene Ward, and their children together, Amber Ward, Courtney Ward, and Kelsey Ward; and children from a former marriage Chad Ward and Shannon Beltrami (Joey Beltrami); siblings Glenn Ward and Claire Mills (Allen Mills); grandchildren Brandon Ward, Keira Beltrami, and Mia Beltrami; niece Katie Kline (Liam Kline) and nephew Jim Mills (Lauren Mills).

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Boulevard, Newport News. The funeral service will follow at 4 in the chapel.
