Carroll Hill Glasco, Jr. of Newport News, passed away on September 5, 2023, surrounded by family. He was 82. Carroll was an active, engaged, and loving father to four children: Jeremy Glasco, Sarah Glasco, Esther Glasco Loch, and Anna Glasco Erving. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Laurel Glasco, his parents, Carroll and Vivian Glasco, and his brother, Dennis Glasco. He is survived by his four children, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his sister, Ann Glasco.

Carroll was born in Hickory, NC, in a log cabin. When he was in high school, the family moved to Bristol, TN, where Carroll’s dad, Carroll Sr., opened a gas station and tire shop. He would eventually attend King College and UT Knoxville and become a mechanical, electrical, and nuclear engineer. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 2012. He loved gardening, was an independent thinker, and a man of faith, having been an active member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church for over 50 years.

Carroll was stoic but hilarious, a man of few words, and will be greatly missed.
