William R. Levine
William “Bill” R. Levine, 81, passed on June 13, 2021. He was a native of Clinton, Iowa and a resident of Newport News for 60 years. Bill served honorably in the U.S. Army for 3 years. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding as a computer programmer after 35 years of service.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Diane N. Levine and his parents, Lester Carroll Levine and Louise Virginia Zastrow. He is survived by his children, Stephen A. Levine and Elizabeth L. Rollins and her husband, Glenn; and grandchildren, Heather E. Rollins, Courtney R. Rollins, and Kristen D. Rollins.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at The Arbors, 1100 William Styron Square S, in Newport News, with a reception immediately following. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Peninsula Food Bank.
The family would like to thank Riverside Cancer Center, Riverside Radiation and especially Nurse Jordan and the team at Riverside Hospice.
Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home.

My mom Vicki, first cousin to Bill, has many fond memories of the time she spent with him. She remembers him coming to her parents to visit Lillian and Russell Luckritz where everyone sat around and had a nice visit. She also enjoyed the times he came and visited them (Vicki and Terry) when they lived in Texas. Her recollection was that he was a good man, cousin and friend.
