Thomas Charles Riegel II, 65, of Newport News, VA passed away on July 28, 2021, at his home of natural causes. He was born December 9, 1955, to Betty and Tom Riegel, Sr. in Bluefield West Virginia. Tom grew up in Newport News and enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in grocery as a Meat Department Manager with Farm Fresh for 27 years.  He was a drag racing and Mopar enthusiast and proud do-it-yourselfer.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother Betty Davis Riegel, father Tom Riegel Sr., brother Bob Riegel, stepbrother Michael Mayes, and son Tommy Riegel.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Loretta Kay Riegel, of Newport News; son James Riegel of Richmond; stepson Ray Fleming; stepdaughter Chastity Diaz; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Jim Riegel of Huntington, WV; sister Leigh Hinrichs of Grand Prairie, TX; stepbrothers, Jerry Mayes of King & Queen, Robert Mayes of Maryland, David Mayes of Lanexa, Paul Mayes of Williamsburg and Matthew Mayes of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 31, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home 11144 Warwick Boulevard Newport News VA 23601.  The CDC highly recommends masks for inside gatherings.
