Margaret L. Wheeler
Margaret L. Wheeler passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, in her home in Newport News, VA. She was a native of Virginia Beach and a resident of Newport News for forty years.
Margaret worked as a Daycare Administrator for Lollipop Lane for twenty-five years. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Newport News. Margaret also enjoyed listening to Gospel music and Elvis Presley.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert W. Johnson.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband of forty-eight years, Douglas L. Wheeler ; two sons, Jeffery Johnson (Felica), and Michael Johnson (Angela); sisters, Carolyn Johnston, and Sandra Waterfield; four grandchildren, Jennifer Puyear, Robert Douglas Johnson, Ellissa Johnson, Eira Johnson; and three great-grandchildren, Pearl Lynn Puyear, Joseph Allen Puyear, and Shelby O. Johnson.
She loved her family and was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was an exceptional Aunt, and Friend, I was very fortunate to have her in my life, she had a old and wise soul with in her, as we grieve for losing her, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, she is with our dear Family members, that went before her, I also know that anything she could do for others, she would, I will miss my Favorite Aunt, that looked out for me as a child, I will Truly miss her, and think of her for all the days I have left, before seeing her again, I love you AUNT MARGRET! Thank you , for being their for me
I love you uncle Doug, and thank you for taking such good care of her, Jeff and Michael, I am so sorry, and your Mother loved y’all so much, and she will always be so proud of the Men you became!
