Evelyn “Jean” Davis, 94, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.  She lived her entire life in Newport News and was married for 66 years to George William Davis, Jr., who predeceased her.  She was a long-time member of Denbigh Baptist Church and later Grace Baptist Chapel.  Her faith played a significant role in her life.  She loved gardening and during her younger years, she and her husband enjoyed camping with their many friends.

Survivors include her sister, Elisabeth Eddy (Jerry) of Warren, Mi.; brother,  Paul A. White, Jr. (Joyce) of James City County, Va.; daughters, Linda D. Good (Roger) of Yorktown, Va. and Lou Ann D. Hughes of San Antonio, Tx.; sons, Donald W. Davis (Mary) of Newport News, Va., and Douglas G. Davis (Sue) of Ashburn, Va.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Peninsula Funeral Home, with Rev. Ryan Davidson officiating.  The burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.   Facial masks and social distancing will be required.
