Bobby Ray Williams, Sr.

Bobby Ray Williams, Sr. passed away at his home in Newport News on Thursday, April 1, 2021.  He was a native of Arkansas and a resident of Newport News for 44 years.  Bob retired, after 23 years of active duty service, from the Army as a Master Sergeant in Rail Transportation as an instructor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claire Anne Williams, daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Tom Berry, and granddaughter Edna.  Bob is survived by his children, Louise, Diana, Judy, Emmett, Kerry and Bobby; grandchildren, Kathryn, Tommy, Yvonne, Cheryl, Joseph, JR,  Casey, Pauline, Carl, Jessica, Brittany, Aaron, Caitlyn, Rebecca, Liam, Christian, Connor and Ethan; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Amber, Catie, Madison, Hunter, Robert, Katelyn, Louis, Nicholas, Christian, Tristen, Haley, Elizabeth, Jordan, Scotty, Makayla, Kirra, Moxon, Elizabeth, Amber, Jonathan, Braxton, Carter, Skyler, Grace, Nicholas, and Silas; and furry companions, Socks and Bear.  

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.   A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 13 at 3:00 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park, officiated by Jim and Laurie Williams. Facial masks and social distancing will be required.  Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home.
