Beverly Delano “Red” Daniel

Beverly Delano “Red” Daniel, 89, of Newport News, VA went home to be with his Lord on November 16, 2022. Red was born in Williamston, NC on November 3, 1933, the last of four children to Benjamin and Patti Daniel. He is survived by the love of his life for 63 years, Joanna Wellons Daniel.  Left to cherish his memory, is his daughter Lisa (Daniel) Mason, of Chesapeake, VA and son C. Scott (Beth) Daniels, of Parma, OH. Family was the joy of his life.  He was especially proud of his four grandchildren – Rebecca (Anthony) Burrill, Benjamin Mason, Reilly (Zachery) Krahe, and Bonnie Daniels.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law Jeanette (Robert) Graebener, brothers-in-law Edwin “Sonny” Wellons, and Rick (Cindy) Wellons, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He served for four years in the Army.  His professional life was spent in various positions in the banking industry on the Peninsula.  He was a member of the Peninsula Jaycees, the Hampton Roads Exchange Club, and the Virginia Peninsula Rotary Club.

Red was an active member of Denbigh United Presbyterian Church in Newport News, VA. He also loved to fish, play golf, and tennis.  He was an accomplished woodworker, making beautiful furniture and items that adorn the homes of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation, in his honor, to Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg, VA for all the support and comfort they provided during his last days.

The family will receive friends at Denbigh United Presbyterian Church, Newport News, VA on Thursday, December 22nd at 1:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm.
