Beecher Loran Lusk

Beecher Loran Lusk, 85, of Yorktown, VA passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, while visiting his homeplace in West Virginia.  He was born February 4, 1936, in Herndon, West Virginia.  Beecher was a member of Grafton Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.  He retired from the Hampton School System in 2000.

Beecher was the son of the late Benjamin H. Lusk and Martha J. Graham Lusk.  He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers: Earnest, Vernie, Oley, Herman, Orville, Buren, Denver, and Paul; five sisters: Maxine McKinney, Letha Graham, Brookie McKinney, Dessie Graham, and Ruby White.   Beecher leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 57 years, Nadine Newcomb Lusk; son, Loran Robert Lusk (Angela); and a granddaughter, Hannah Marie Lusk; two sisters, Ellie Graham of Odd, West Virginia and Faye Shrewsburg of West Point, Virginia; six sisters-in-law, Barbara Lusk of Glen Danials, Gladys Lusk of Shady Springs, Ilene McKinney (Benny) of Hinton,  all of West Virginia, Adelene Allen (Bill) of Wetumpka, Alabama, Athalene Iler of Culpeper, Virginia, and Kathalene Clark (Richard) of Elberson, Virginia.  He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, Virginia 23601 with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.  Guests are required to wear masks and keep their social distance.
