Adam Isaac Deyong

Adam Isaac Deyong was born on August 10, 1974 and passed away on March 6, 2021 in Newport News, Virginia after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Newport News, graduating from Ferguson High School in 1992 and Florida State University in 1997. After college he briefly worked for Gateway Computers before joining his parents in the family business, Deyong’s Western Wear. When his parents decided to retire, Adam purchased it from them and decided to rebrand it as Deyong’s Boots. Realizing a growing need for safety boots and apparel in Hampton Roads, Adam steered the business in that direction.

In 2010 Adam married Marissa Claus in Newport News. Together they had two children, Anna Sophia and Jonah Simon, and settled down in the Hilton Village area. Adam brought Marissa into the family business and they were proud to be the third generation Deyong couple to run the company.

Adam was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Deyong and uncle, Dr. Charles Braslow. He is survived by his loving wife, Marissa; children, Anna and Jonah; mother,
Barbara Braslow Deyong; sister, Samantha Chou and her husband Jimmy and their sons, Dylan and Paxton; grandmother, Sarah Deyong, along with many loving cousins, uncles, aunts, and family.

Adam was a lifelong member of Rodef Sholom Temple and was active in the UJCVP.
