Robert Ward “Bob” Stockum, 76, of Newport News, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Bob was a resident of Newport News for over 20 years.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Earl Stockum Sr., his mother, Virginia Davis James, and his brother, Frederick Earl Stockum Jr.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of 39 years, Stephanie J. Stockum; son, Robert Christopher (R.C.) Stockum; and grandson Tyler Christopher Stockum.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Bethany United Methodist Church, 13717 Bethany Church Road, Smithfield, VA 23430.

So sorry to hear this. I went to high school with Bobby and I remember his love of cars. He was a good guy.
I share your loss. Bobby was my nextdoor neighbor growing up on MacIrvin Drive, Newport News. Bobby loved cars. He and older brother Freddy worked on their 442. Bobby built and raced slot cars! I remember Bobby as a fun and very intelligent young man.
