Nathaniel “Nate” Walters, 60, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025. He was a native of Lumberton, N.C., and a resident of Newport News for 25 years. Nate served in the U.S. Army for 3 years and was an E4 at the time of his separation.
Nate was preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. Walters and Peter Junious Walters. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cheryl A. Walters; two daughters, Natoya Walters and Amanda Irvin; four sons, Craig McCormick, Cedric McCormick, Nathaniel Walters, Jr., and Christopher Irvin; numerous grandchildren; two sisters, Joanne Hammonds and Jeanette Smith; two brothers, David Walters and Jerry Walters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nate was a huge fan of the Denver Broncos and wore their colors. In honor of Nate, please consider wearing orange, white, and blue at the Memorial Service scheduled for Friday, May 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Rock Church Christian Center, 340 Tabbs Lane, Newport News, Virginia.
