Michael “Mike” Brigham, beloved father, husband, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the age of 72. Born in 1952, Mike spent his early years in Massachusetts and New York before moving to Hampton, Virginia, where he attended Bethel High School. He later attended Chowan College in North Carolina, followed by completing an apprenticeship at the Newport News Shipyard, where Mike and Nancy started their family.
Mike had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He enjoyed using his Ham radio, often spending time with fellow club members. His interest extended to his Harley and Mini Cooper, and he cherished the camaraderie he found in these communities.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Nancy F. Brigham; daughters, Catherine B. Murphy and husband Johnny, and Jennifer B. Rocha and husband Guillermo (Chico); and grandchildren, Kayleigh, Alex, and Keith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Doris Brigham.
He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his passion for radio communication, motorcycles, and cars, and the countless warm memories he created with family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A wake will be held in Newport News on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Jennifer’s home, where we will celebrate his love for stories and friendship.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/) in Mike’s memory.

I miss you so much Dad.
Mike and I (Bill) became friends in high school at Bethel. I was best man in his and Nan’s wedding and he was best man in ours. We shared trips in our “single” days and once we married, we played cards while our two oldest daughters played/slept! We have many fond memories of good times and we hope to make more memories with Nan and the family. Gonna miss you “Brigham”.
