Mary Frances Meeks, 99, entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, January 4, 2025. Mary was born in 1925 in Woolwine, Virginia, to the late Isaac Agree and Roseabelle Compton Agee.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Meeks, brothers Nathan, Alton, and James, and sisters Claire, Annie, and Lena. She is survived by her son, Robert T. Meeks, Jr., and daughter, Joan Meeks Horne and her husband, Larry Horne; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Reva Custer and her husband, Roger Custer of Ridgeway, Virginia.
Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 10, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 11, at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
